Try the wine

1 John 4
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Try the wine for enjoyment and fun. All in moderation. Do not get drunk. I take beer and wine but I hate the hard drinks. Gave me a bad hang-overs. Not happening again. For women of course they should watch out cause research say they get drunk faster than men on same amount of drinks. Of course this also refers to people we listen to. Do not believe immediately but think from what you learned you know whether they of good spirit or not. Verse 3 people will know whether you are speaking the truth because of evidence you presented, both in actions and words.

1 Thessalonians 5
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

However do not misunderstand. There are things we do not have to try to see whether they are bad for us. Do not make meth like Walt and Jesse. See what happened to Skinny Pete and Badger. Completely decline things when you know its bad for you.

I'm not saying luxury and entertainment are bad. When done in good taste then try them. You like to spend on hobbies like collecting robot figures, why not? You like shopping, go shopping. Why not? Fine dining? Why not? So you see there is also nothing wrong in wearing jewelry made of gold, silver and other precious stones and minerals. The earlier verse which said do not bring gold, silver and bronze is an entirely different subject. It was talking of money in the purse or wallet. While the adornments I talk of now as I said is a form of luxury. However its your hard-earned money. Course your money must be legit. Like gambling, do not be addicted that you go bankrupt. Or the addiction that ill affects on health, well-being and relationships.

1 Timothy 6
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
